Dear Friends,
I’m writing to you today to tell you how humbled I am to be elected to serve you. I do not take the role of ‘leader’ as one that is to be served but the complete opposite, one who serves others. All leadership roles are given by the greater power and the one in that position must always remember that they are chosen for this role because people believe in them to bring forth something better to benefit all mankind and not just the few. They too must always remember that the True Leader is the Spirit, the Great Spirit.
As long as I have been volunteering for the Mission of the Shroud and the People’s Political Power Party of Canada with Roger F. Poisson (our former leader who has recently passed on), he has shown me through both of these organizations the deep emotions, struggles, turmoil, grief, and scars one can have in one’s life. But how love, true love for others, can make all those pains disappear and bring value and purpose back into their lives and joy into their hearts. Roger had deep love for all people and was truly in service to others in his love for them. I wish for all of you to have the same joy knowing that someone cares and loves you.
I want Canada to be a place where all are equal and have a chance at a beautiful life, where all have a purpose and no one is greater than the other. The gap between the rich and the poor should not exist. There should never be, in this bountiful country, starving children, homelessness, and poverty. The value of Canada lies not in its gold and diamonds but rather in its people. A survey had been done in Canada that proved that “Canada had the ability to feed the whole world”. If we have the ability to feed the whole world why not our own people?
Canada is a family. But as we see in families of today, they are broken, depleted and separated. This all begins with the disrespect of women. That is mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, nieces, cousins, grandmothers, aunts, friends and all. This is not a ‘feminist’ issue, it is a family issue. All criminality, homeless youth and abuse, takes its roots in the breakdown of the family, the disrespect of women. All women should be treated as mothers or mothers-to-be. We are the bearers of the human race and our sanctity lies within our heart and womb. Women should always remember this and bring forth their heart.
Canada’s children should all be equal and not one favoured over the other. However in Canada right now many of its children are suffering and one of those is our First Nations people. Myself, I am Métis. My father is Aboriginal. I have learned a lot from my family, the history of Canada and especially the work of the Mission of the Shroud about the trials of our First Nations people. They are still in bondage. Most of the poverty in Canada lies within the reserves and this has to and will change. “As long as the green grass grows, the waters flow and the sun shines…” this is the treaties and these treaties must be settled and not out of obligation but out of love. Canada’s children must be all equal and all of them must work together equally and respectfully with love and trust, so that all of its children will inherit a better Canada, a better world.
I know that all of this is possible and will one day become reality. All of us here at the PPP have given our lives to work together to plan a new Canada, with you.
I thank all of you. You are the reason of my love for this country and the whole world because love has no limits or boundaries and is to be given to all alike, no matter what religion, race, culture or creed. Let’s make Canada one family, so that other countries may do the same, until there is peace throughout the world.
I truly love you.
Meegwetch. Gi zah gin.
Yours truly,
Anna-Maria Everett with the Spirit
Leader of the People’s Political Power Party of Canada
