Let us begin by looking at the recent past...
By their own admission, Statistics Canada in the Stats Canada’s Study: Inequality in wealth, concludes thatthe gap between the nation's families with the highest net worth and those with the lowest, widened again between 1999 and 2005 as it had earlier between 1984 and 1999. The study, which divides Canadian families into 5 ‘wealth groups’ looks at median wealth from1984 to 2005. Most dramatic is the rise in income in the ‘Top Group’ category whose median wealth jumped from $335,500 (in 1984) to an incredible $551,000 (in 2005). This translates to a 48.25% increase in wealth for the already wealthiest (elite) members of Canadian society.
The ‘Bottom Group’ (as it is referred to by Stats Canada) stands in sharp, sharp contrast to the top group between these same years (1984 to 2005). Their ‘wealth’ increased by a shocking -43.0% (actually dropped)!
Within 20 years, all the ‘talk’ about healing the nation and bringing equality to the poor, the results are profoundly disturbing. The chasm between the ‘top’ and ‘bottom’ groups has widened to a disturbing degree. The ‘division’ has grown to 91.25%!
You may ask the question, “Who are the elite?” Perhaps you - if you believe equality is 99 cents in your pocket and one for the rest. We always say ‘The majority wins’…but the elite are in the minority.
There is no such thing as a superpower government anymore…only the power of the people for they are the majority and they deserve equality without fear of reprisal by sanctions, military action or self-destruction (brought about by hopelessness).
We invite, in the name of justice, all the poor of this nation, so neglected by racism and injustice and so dominated by the rich who will always use money to keep ‘the poor’ under control through sanctions.
Democracy says: let the people speak. When we ‘speak’ on Election Day there will be no money to manipulate the power of the majority to determine its own destiny. So we must all get together and look for a majority family, where everyone is included with no exception as to their race, religion, financial status or poverty. Together the Canadian family will give equality to all and diminish poverty into a wealth, a ‘common-wealth’ of all the people.
My whole life has been evolving around Jefferson’s pledge: ‘eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man.’ ‘Blessed are the poor. They will inherit the world’.
We call upon the rich and the poor to join in because Canada is rising. And together we will end the excessive profits of corporations and multi-nationals that through their greed withdraw profits and even basic necessities of life from their countrymen, women and children.
It is time for courage and daring from our leaders, from Elections Canada - in the name of the poor to ‘risk it all’ for the survival of their poor Canadian people.
Our blueprint for the Canadian family will be to give everyone to look forward to tomorrow without pressures and divisions between people. Everyone will set his or her dream or goal because hope will be restored to every man, woman and child. ‘Blessed are you the poor’ because the world is in your hands now as it never was before.
Whether you are rich or poor, the trees will always bloom. There is no need to interrupt this perpetual movement. Within every new apple you have more seeds. Everyone could have a tree…an equal portion for all in the garden of the family of Canada.
