Thank you for writing to us. You have asked us what our party believes should be the role of government. Your interest shows that you are already aware of your importance in the role of government.
We believe that a government is like a family that functions well with all people together. We are all the government and need to work together if the country is to truly be one nation.
Fighting between leaders is a waste of time (and money), and does nothing to give us the future that we are all needing to see. The government needs to provide leadership for the people, just as a good father will be an example of the good things that keep the family together with sharing, love and respect of each other. There should be no pride or false authority in the right leadership of government. All people have made mistakes and need to learn from them. A good leader, like a good father, is strong, compassionate, forgiving, and always respectful of others. He also listens to the truth. The government must listen to everyone but never be willing to compromise truth and honesty for gain.
The government is the servant of the people and therefore looks out for their needs and works with all to bring about what is the best for the people of the country. In serving the people, the government needs to work with integrity – never being excessive in spending on unnecessary things. By being careful, and with the well-being of its people always at heart, a good government will increase the comfort and prosperity of all its citizens. It will decrease the disasters, the numbers of desperate, criminal people and also reduce the massive numbers of sick or unhealthy people. When people learn to work together happily, and see the work and prosperity that is returning to everyone, all the negative influences in the society will naturally begin to diminish.
It sounds like a dream – but it isn’t. It begins with honesty. We all want peace. It begins with all of us. We must never forget the poor. They should be our first concern. When we all work together to solve our greatest challenges, the rest will be easy.
